My name is Elvira Mendez, born on December 28, 1976 in Guatemala City. My Parents, the architect Francisco José Méndez Dávila López Alba Mendez Mantovani. My brothers, John Francis and Lionel Fernando. In my family I have the pride of important people who contributed great ideas, concepts and art to our country. Among them, my Grandfather: Francisco Mendez, poet, writer and journalist then leading national newspaper "The Fair." My uncle, Lionel Mendez Davila, architect, writer, researcher and art critic. Francisco Alejandro Méndez, my cousin, one of the leading contemporary writers of Guatemala. And my father, architect, researcher, writer of his own theories of research, professor for nearly 30 years at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, man wiser than I ever knew.

Perito studied in Marketing and Advertising in the College Suger Montano. I studied three years of marketing and advertising and then I changed my career to graduate degree in Graphic Design at the Universidad Rafael Landivar. My first job in graphic design was in the textile industry in Guatemala in the field of silk screening. I'm working while doing freelance graphic design projects for small and large businesses and individuals. Field of the design that I like is the Editorial, I have done illustrations and cover designs for several books written by Guatemalans, magazines and publications. I am an artist, I dedicate myself to painting for many years, although I am self-taught graphic design career and allowed me to discover implement many techniques that had not previously used. In 2006, I applied for a grant for painting and I was selected to study at the School of Diego Quispe Tito Cusco in Peru, where in addition to studying some of the techniques of mural painting, human figure in others, discovered a beautiful village: Cuzco. This beautiful place has a rich culture combination of Inca and Colonial and talk about the stunning scenery of the Cordillera de los Andes. I performed several solo and group exhibitions in my country Peru and I was invited to a huge art festival in Holguin Cuba to exhibit in a gallery. My dream is to continue doing shows in other countries, travel and study other cultures, meet people from every country because I love to live, share my experiences and those of other people and I like art universal.

I worked almost four years as a coordinator in El Proyecto Cultural El Sitio in Antigua Guatemala (www.elsitiocultural.org) a place where there is room for all the arts, including paintings, sculpture, photography, theater, concerts, special events, lectures, workshops, I put my artistic and technical knowledge of graphic design to share with other lovers of art, but more importantly, I learned everything I wanted to know, I was in daily contact with many people and artists and the general public delight of art and make it part of his life, because I want it to be too much of mine. Now I am a freelance graphic design, I find that I like projects, journals, cultural centers, individuals, I also had areas where I write about other artists from an uncritical look through small, and entertaining interviews where I show their ideas, techniques, concepts, and their follies, and then translate it and let everyone read!

I do not know where I will be tomorrow .... why I have this space to write!!
